Gods
With Descartes there is more than one God. In this I agree and disagree. People might fight and always say that there god is better than others. Who are we to say that one is better. I believe that everyone believes in the same god. People make it seem there is thousands of different gods out there. But in reallity there is one god. I believe that people believe in the same god but just look at it from a different angle. If you think about about everyones religion says basically the same thing. No ones gods tells them to go out and murder someone or steal something. Thats why I think there is one god instead of thinking there is more than one god.

It's not true that everyone believes in one God. In my western civilization class we just learned that some civilizations were polytheist meaning that they belived in more than one God. They believed that all things of nature were holy; there was a sun god, moon god, etc. You might believe there is one God, as I do, but not everyone does.
People are people and nature is what makes people do the things they do and act the way that they act. Ones surroundings constitute who one becomes in a sense along with the other people that they associate themselves with. As far as God is concerned its like Descartes says, God is a perfect being whom we must use as a standard considering we are not all perfect as he/she, your God is. It isent God that makes humans do the things that they do because it isent all base don intuition and faith, there is still that animal instinct behind us.
Your faith and what you choose to believe in create how many Gods you worship.
That was a great response. The way you are is a result of more things than i can think of-experience, surroundings, people around you, faith, etc. Pur instinct we are born with is also a factor.
We both believe that it may vary from person to person on how many Gods you worship.
I agree with Arjan Kolic, that people only act the way they do because of nature and his/her surroundings.
For example, when you are reading this blog, you form your own opinion based on growing up in New Jersey. (I assume...)
Would you still have that same opinion if you were reading this blog in...New York(city)? California? North Carolina?...etc
Most likely not because everyone comes from different backgrounds, and if we were all the same, then we wouldn't be human beings, we would be robots or something...
It's not oly a matter of New Jersey to New York or to California, but also from your immediate surroundings. Your family relationships and status (divorced parents, single parent, etc.) play a part.
I argree with you when you say that there is one God. I think that different religions have a different name for them but they represent the same person. I also feel that no one has the right to say their God or gods are better than anyone else's. I think that people should just concentrate on their own gods and leave everyone else's alone. It shouldn't matter who believes in what gods or how many.
