To Hume, thoughts and ideas are based on impressions. Impressions left on the mind lead us to perceive the meaning behind them which causes our thoughts or ideas. Our thoughts could be reactions to something, feelings about something, or emotions. On the other hand our ideas are a collaboration of all of those things and our ideas bring about something new.

Like my mom said, first impression is everything.They don't us we don't know them, it's all about look, the swagger, the personality.
It's a matter of you selling you're image. When approaching someone new. Thoughts create ideas and those ideas then create the impression, it's sad to say that ugly people like me usually never leave a good impression but I try. hahaha I also agree ideas are brought about by influence, everything in our environment can potentially shape the person you are today. good or bad.
